- 12 cups water
- 2 large carrots or 1/2 pound 250 grams carrots (diced)
- 4 stalks celery diced
- 1 large onion diced
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil or 1 tablespoon fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon dried marjoram or 1 tablespoon fresh marjoram
- salt and pepper according to taste
- 8 ounces 225 grams dried fettuccine or egg noodles

- First nicely clean the chicken in water. Place the chicken in a large pot and add water.
