NO, chocolate melting can be done in the microwave and with a double boiler also. If both these are not available, chocolate can be melted in a bowl placed on a slightly bigger saucepan, simmered with water on the stovetop.

Ingredients
For alcohol soaked strawberries (vodka), simple ingredients required are:
- STRAWBERRIES: medium and firm strawberries with vibrant stems
- CHOCOLATE: use any chocolate of your choice . Can use dark chocolate, semi sweet chocolate or white chocolate. Even the combination of these chocolates is better.
- ALCOHOL: use favorite alcohol of your choice. I mostly use vodka.
How To Make Alcohol Infused Chocolate Strawberries
- To make liquor infused strawberries, first rinse berries and completely dry them. Take a baking sheet and line it up with parchment / wax paper. Place the berries in a large bowl and completely cover them with vodka (or any liquor / alcohol) of your choice. Refrigerate them for 1 – 6 hours.
- Drain these strawberries and reserve the remaining vodka for future use. Pat dry them very thoroughly for chocolate sticking.
- In a double boiler or microwave, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips. After 30 seconds intervals, keep stirring till it melts and becomes smooth.
- Next, dip the drunken strawberries in melted chocolate by holding the stem, till it gets covered completely. Place them on the parchment / wax paper. Keep baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill the strawberries for about 30 minutes – 1 hour, till chocolate sets.
- Finally melt the white chocolate like first one. Dip the fork into the melted chocolate. Drizzle the melted chocolate on the strawberry’s hardened chocolate making your pattern. Refrigerate the berries for another 30 minutes – 1 hour. Let the white chocolate is set. Vodka infused and chocolate covered drunken strawberries are all ready to serve.

Drunken Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Vodka Soaked Strawberries
Ingredients
- 3 cups 750ml alcohol of choice (prefer vodka)
- 2 pounds 1 kg medium size strawberries (with stem intact)
- 1 + 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions
- For alcohol infused chocolate strawberries, first, wash the berries and dry them completely. Lay parchment / wax paper on the baking sheet.
- In a large bowl place the strawberries. Cover them with vodka or alcohol (of choice). Refrigerate them for 1 hour – 6 hours. (at least 1 hour).
- Drain strawberries and reserve the remaining alcohol for further use. Pat dry them completely.
- Using the double boiler or microwave, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips. At 30 seconds internals keep stirring till chocolate melts and gets smooth.
- Take alcohol soaked strawberries and dip them in melted chocolate by holding the stem. Let the strawberry get covered with chocolate completely.
- After dipping, place the chocolate covered strawberries on the parchment / wax paper. Keep the baking sheet in the refrigerator and let the strawberries chill for 30 minutes – 1 hour, or till the chocolate sets.
- Melt the white chocolate like the first one. Dip the fork in melted chocolate. Drizzle the melted chocolate on each strawberry to decorate them. Refrigerate the berries for the white chocolate to get set. Finally, the alcohol infused chocolate covered strawberries are ready to serve.
Notes
- For these strawberries to become kid-friendly the alcohol can be omitted, and after the strawberries are dipped in semi-sweet chocolate they can be dipped and garnished with chopped nuts, chocolate nut, shredded coconut, cornflakes or your preferences.
- If the microwave is not available, the double boiler or a pan on stove top.
- Use any best alcohol of your choice and the best chocolate of your choice.
- On the day you are serving these strawberries, get them at room temperature.
